From the UW Archives: Cold Dynamics
It's cold in Madison. I woke up to a report of -9° F this morning. Such conditions, though, have never held back the dynamic women of the UW, as this 1947 photo of Wisconsin Hoofer co-ed skiers demonstrates.
Tucking outerwear into underwear is a sure-fire way to be warmer when its so chilly. In my 5 or 6 years as a deer hunter, I always....ALWAYS tucked my sweaters and turtlenecks directly into my briefs (white high-tops, of course) for a remarkable increase in warmth. Same goes for the socks.
They are holding back this dynamic woman! I seriously contemplating missing my first class this morning in favor of staying warm.
ReplyDeletePerhaps if you wore your socks outside your pants-- like the skiing coed-- you would meet the morning chill with more vim.

ReplyDeleteI hope you will consider including outerwear tucked into underwear on your future runways.
ReplyDeleteTucking things into my underwear always increases my warmth.
