Aunt Pam, who's the best, sent KRB a newspaper article related to his great aunt, author of History of Blount County, Tennessee: From war trail to landing strip, 1795-1955, the late Inez Burns. Tasting History — Family Cooking in Blount County, Tennessee, the two-volume set of recipes and histories dedicated to Inez Burns and benefiting the the Blount County Historical Museum is now in its second printing.

I can imagine no greater recent pleasure than the experience, as I prepared dinner-- our favorite new tradition of breakfast for dinner on Friday nights, waffles and a scrambler (that evening's featured potatoes, onions, and Big Ed's cheese)-- of KRB's extemporaneous reading from the back of the newspaper clipping: the article "Lawyer finds no bidders for ex-d[//]" and the Blount County school lunch menus for the week of Jan 10-14. The moment of with-ness with KRB-- his performance spirited yet nonchalant, droll, flawless-- was of genuine personal, epicurean, and historical import.
