From the Market

Yesterday, during my two minutes sitting next to Amma's chair, a village man with white hair came and offered her a bushel full of the longest green beans I've ever seen! His arms were full of them, beans as long as legs, with chocolately tips. As if that wasn't enough, they were half-wrapped in a PLASTIC PROHPYLACTIC PRODUCE bag, the kind you rarely see here. Amma took a long strand out, broke it in half, and munched on it thoughtfully, as she always does, and once again, using her thumbnail as a gauge, I noticed how tiny her hands are. You were right there with me, fresh from her market.

The only thing that could make your comment better, Ms. Tooknap, is if today's post had included impossibly long beans. it was so nice to be with you yesterday. ♥ ♥ ♥
