"Talk To Her" was not one of my favorites, but now-- now that I'm a dance insider-- perhaps I'll have to rewatch and reconsider.

Moves me almost to tears to see this pic of Pina, even if it's not during one of her greatest perfs. (I come not to fathom "good" and "bad" any longer, especially when dealing with an artist at work for so many years, like PB.) The lady deserves great lengths--miles--of leeway: her "failures" are more interesting than most people's entire careers. The last time I saw her company perform, most of the audience could only laugh during what I found to be heartbreaking. I so wished she had had speakers aimed at the ignorant audience, to blast them back with their own unknowing laughter.

I adore this bit of the performance: I could watch those arms for hours, marveling at the impossible significance of their movements.
