Breathtaking.
Can't shake it. And that's partly because I can't decide whether Patti's flub makes or breaks it.
Embracing serendipity is the key to good musicianship. That includes forgetting words.
I cannot tell you how many mornings this song has gotten me through. Although I still sort of want to hit her in the face when she says "the year of the child." But I think my enjoyment of Patti Smith is always predicated on wanting to both be her and hurt her.
So beautiful.
